Vlad grew up in Romania and spent more than 17 years in competitive swimming. He raced freestyle for Romanian national teams, won over 250 medals, set junior national relay records, and was part of Romania's extended Olympic squad for Paris 2024.
After his racing career he moved to the Netherlands and coached adults at a large swimming club. In 2024 he founded Win and Swim to coach adults the way athletes are coached: small groups, real technique work, and a clear plan for every swimmer.
He is a KNZB-certified swimming coach with a bachelor's degree in swimming and first-aid certification.
Win and Swim started with one lane and a handful of swimmers. Vlad paid for that first pool lane himself and coached five or six adults at a time.
Word spread. Adults who thought they would never swim were suddenly doing lengths, and they brought their friends. Today Win and Swim coaches over 300 swimmers across Amsterdam, from complete beginners to advanced, and it keeps growing.
